I anchored near the Roger Williams University sailing team practice area and got a pretty close view of the action. The coach moved the mark when the wind shifted and put me almost square in the center of the windward leg. I apologized for anchoring so close (I didn't have much of a choice) when he went by but he said it was good to teach them to deal with the unusual. Some of them tacked close enough to reach out and touch.

Quick and dirty video of some of the action here:

When we were leaving the yacht club tonight my 4 year old (Squeaky) said she would like to have a boat. I asked her what kind and she said a Row Boat. (There is a song about that.) I told her that I would get her one when she turns 8. Old enough for sailing school. Those boats in the videos look close enough to a row boat for me. They just have some extra options.

That looks familiar. The University of Delaware sailing team keeps their fleet of 420's at our marina. They all have to work through our moorings to get to the course. The kids' tolerance for sub 60 degree water was impressive earlier this spring.

RWU has a good program. I've seen espn coverage of them at the nationals a couple of times in the last 2-3 years.
