It is OK - best bang for a buck...
Hello...Buying any Oday is a pound for dollar call - they were all very well built boats - but they are not J22's or J27's...Good solid boat - very well built for the money - however - short rigs and keels - but not to far fetched...Tell you what - it will outpoint a SeaWard - but may not keep same in resale value...From my Oday ownership experience - I tend to feel like a guy who owns a 1976 Pontiac (and I do) - the thing goes and is comfortable - but it is no racer and you have to plan a half dozen tacks to get anywhere vs. say a J27 - which though, will cost you 8 times the money...It's a good go if you are willing to go say 70% of middle ground on all points - comfort, stability, solid build, good interior - good family, beer and BBQ boat - not a high pointing passage maker - OK...As for sailing single handed - forget it - unless halyards turned back to cockpit or furling on the jib/genny - and a cheap tiller stay...Sean Herron.
