Thanks S&N! It's not a done deal. But looking at the maps it doesn't look like there my be a good lake for our boat. So we my have too leave it here.Well, how do I say I'm happy for you Amos but selfishly I'm not? Wichita losing a good one there. Wish you were back at NSA.
That's where Jay Sander ?? (sails One Nebraska in the San Juan 21 fleet) sails out of. Call Archer and get Jay's number. Also Joan G's brother live in Omaha - he may have some thoughts.Try looking up "Lake McConaughy" 22miles long @ 4 miles at its widest. We used to camp there when we had Hobies etc. The largest lake in Nebraska. White sandy beaches

Are you with the sail club or at the marina? I would like to be with a sail club.We have a guy from Nebraska here on our dock at Perry Lake Ks. Probably a 2.5 hr drive from Omaha but he makes the trip almost every week end. We also have at least 3 Hunter 30s on the dock.

That's a 5.5 hr drive one way. Looks like a Great Lake but that's a long drive every weekend. (11 hrs)
We my end up at Perry lake. I have always liked that lake. It's not to far from two of our girls. They are in Manhattan. That's where Jay Sander ?? Or Clinton Lake in Lawrence. There is also Smithville Lake North of Kansas City but I don't know if it can handle big boats. Pat Adams may also have some ideas, he's from NE.
Good point.Because of its proximity to KC, Smithville Lake is teaming with drunk power boaters every weekend. I wouldn't sail on it.
If you have kids in Manhattan, there is Tuttle Creek Reservoir and 30 miles away in Junction City is Milford Reservoir. Both are good sized lakes but aren't known for sailing like Perry.
We my take you up on that. We still have one more interview. I didn't see any pricing on the website. How can I get a pricing list of the services that PYC provides?Consider Perry Yacht Club. http://perryyachtclub.com/ We keep out H33 there. I'd be happy to show you around.
That is good to know! What area to you keep your sailboat at Perry Lake and what do you like the best about it?There are three options for keeping your boat on Lake Perry; Lake Perry Yacht and Marina (LPYM) Rock Creek Marina Perry Yacht Club (PYC) Based on the fact that you would be driving from Nebraska, PYC would save you a little time (20 min) over LPYM or rock creek. PYC is sailboats only and has serious sailors. The only downside is that PYC is on the shallowest end of the lake and occasionally (not frequently) when there are long droughts or the COE decides to release too much water, PYC can be left high and dry, leaving you with the choice of pulling your boat or moving to slips in one of the other two marinas. At Rock Creek, there is a bridge that separates the sailboat slips from the rest of the marina. You can't fit under the bridge so if you want to use the marina store or restaurant, you have to drive to get there. Just somethings to consider
