Came in from the east on the ICW. Wondering if I need to stay in the marked channels or could I cut across the bay to he nort west to dog river area. Any one with knowledge. Thanks

Ternang, You can leave the ICW at about green 125 with a ground track of about 325 and go directly to the Dog River Channel just north of Gaillard Island. You'll be close to the Mullet Point light which you should leave well to your starboard side.The spoil area east of the ship channel is deep enough for your boat to cross easily.. There will be traffic in the ship channel, so it is best to stay out until you have to cross it at the Dog River channel. Once in the Dog River channel (just past ship channel #64) do not get out of the Dog River entrance channel.
