I just purchased a 23.5 with a bimini. It's mounted on the gunnels (no stern rails). Is there room to sail with the bimini up? It appears to be too high off the deck and will interfer with the boom. I suspect it's for use when I've dropped anchor or in a slip. Also, has any one installed a depth finder? If so, where did you mount the transducer? With the motor, tiller and ladder on the transom, Iim at a loss for the best location. Thanks for any and all input.

Bimini Sailing

I sail with my bimini up all the time on my 23.5. There's not much point in having one if you can't sail with it up. It allows me to sail longer because my wife will come along. Mine has clearance under the boom with the sail up. When the sail is down, I make sure the boom is held a couple of inches higher than the bimini. The bimini supports also make great places to attach gimbled drink holders.
