He had no motor aboard. He sailed thru 6 days and nights of gale force winds. And has since logged thousands of miles sailing and living aboard in Hawaii. He also has a page there explaining the changes he made to the boat. Stringers etc. The provisions he carried and how he carried them making the most out of space and wieght.Good luck

I wish I'd found sailboatowners.com earlier, like 2 years ago. I've had a lot of helpful and interesting replies (not all of them nice, but all thoughtful and appreciated). Thanks.RobinI checked out Chalupa, though I couldn't find her on Sailnet. I did a Google Search and came upon the article.. I'm reading it now.

Way to go Robin! I think many of us would like to embark on some type of semi-risky journey into unknown adventure. I hope one day to do something along the line of your pursuit. (jus gotta find a way to play around this thing called a job..., not to mention a little more experience and a more suitable boat, I have a MacGregor 26s).
