I justed wanted to share a great experience for anyone who might have the same opportunity. We sailed to Catalina 10/8-10/11 for the Jazz Festival. It was a riot. For anyone who wants to do this, make sure to reserve your slip at Long Beach for the night prior to your departure, as thay did'nt have one for us and we had to sail from Dana Point which is about 10 miles farther. They were much more hospitable at Dana Point anyway. We set sail at about 6am and were out there by about 1:30pm and got a mooring no problem. I would reccommend this trip to anyone who likes a little adventure and a lot of party. I have a Hunter 240 and trailered it from Lake Mead. A long haul but worth it all.
