"52 girls and staff had gotten off 25 minutes prior to the explosion." Geez, could have been a huge tragedy had they not gotten off. You still have to wonder how the explosion could have blown the deck off the boat, and the two remaining people were not killed or badly injured. Cactus

A charactaristic of gas expolsions is the lack
of a center of blast. The discription of the manner of the boat coming apart seems to indicate a gas explosion. This would result in an over pressure in the entire hull, no shrapnel, and not necessarily a large fireball. Typically in a house the windows are blown out but the furniture isn't moved.
