The Cranker is a S.S. Sailboat Winch Drill Adapter Bit ($19.95). Chuck this bit into your drill and you have an electric winch handle. Visit www.thecranker.com - here you can view pictures, read about or purchase The Cranker.

Geez, $20 for a hunk of turned bar stock. I also love the explanation of why the shaft doesn't have flats - because people often chuck their hex or 3 sided bits on the corners, yeah, right. Sure does save you a lot of work though, stick that square bar in the lathe and turn it down for a few minutes and, poof, you've made $20. And, after one has also purchased the recommended Milwaukee Drill (msrp $560) the cost is getting close to that of true marine grade electric winch handles that won't die within a year of being exposed to the sea air. But for those who want to cheap out with a bit, I'd recommend looking at a Winch Bit (on eBay). It costs twice as much as this spammer's Cranker, but it has such a superior design that there is just no comparison.
