Sailboat transport SE Florida

I'm looking for someone on the Treasure Coast of Florida to truck my sailboat from Ft. Pierce, FL to Vero Beach, FL and not having much luck. I've got one estimate at $1900. It seems really steep to me. but it's been a few years since I've had my boat hauled.

Can anyone recommend someone in the area or someone bringing a boat down from up north that might be a little more reasonably priced? When I brought my boat down from Wisconsin to Florida in 2008, it was only $2300. Fuel prices were almost double at the time. I've listed it on U-ship twice and not one response. With all the boats in Florida, I would think there must be more than one person in the area that transports sailboats.

Ft Pierce to Vero? Is it in the water? Very short distance.

Are you in any time crunch? Put feelers out to boat movers and tell them, when you're in the neighborhood, call me.

I had a horrible experience with Anchors Away trucking.

It will get sailed to Ft Pierce to a marina then hauled out of the water, then I need it hauled by truck to Vero Beach (15miles) to my house. I have a pretty big window of about 3 months.

Thanks for the info on Anchors Away.

Usually, hauls are yard to yard where there are travel lifts at both ends. How do you plan on getting the boat off the trailer at your house?
I would call the yards in the area to see if they have any ideas

Probably because you require a hydraulic trailer since you want it in your backyard. I had mine hauled from the seller's backyard to mine for $750.....a 30 mile trip. Those trailers are pretty slick. They go under the boat and the arms are hydraulically adjusted to fit your boat. You may want to add in the Uship notes that a hydraulic trailer is needed. Not unless you want to contract a crane too.
Check out Sureline marine. He is based in Maryland but make trips to FL a lot. He has a hydraulic trailer and knows his stuff.

There are DIY yards in Ft Pierce if you need to work on it and may be cheaper
to do that.

Try googling Smiths Boat Salvage in Braxton Ms. I used his hydraulic trailer to move my H31 a few years back from San Antonio area to Houston. Reasonably price and very experienced

I've been trying to arrange a similar deal up in Massachusetts. My "new" Albin Vega is sitting on jacks on the PO's property, and I just need it lifted up off the stands and set down on my trailer. Apparently no doable unless by crane! The best I could find is a guy who will pick it up, take it to a local yard, and set it down there. THEN the yard can pick it up with a travel lift and set it on the trailer. Seems like a lot of logistics, but what do I know. And boy are these guys busy this time of year!

Y'know ... I saw one of these trucks up in Tallahassee recently, might be an option for you:

Did you try any sign companies to see if they have a crane to help you out ?
