Just got my "new" 1987 Hunter 23' boat rigged and in the water. My original jib DOES NOT fit the CDI furler which I just had installed. It hangs out at the bottom by about 18". The installer (Sailing Shop) suggested I cut the sail down when I take it out this fall. Anyone have this problem before or did the shop forget to MEASURE the sail before the installation? Very disappointed!

Think about it

With the old hank-on jib, the foot was fastened to the hull area of your boat. The roller furling takes room at the bottom of the forestay and the jib now attaches the the roller furling drum; perhaps about 18 inches higher than the hull?
