I'm still looking for a part for my Merriman pedestal. My guess is that there might be some salvage yard that has a part, if there is such a thing as a sailboat salvage yard. Being from the mid-west I don't have a clue, are there salvage yards on the coasts? Any suggestions? Thanks.

Steering part? Which ones?

Which parts are you trying to find? We just did a major fix on our Merriman steering system and know about the availability of some things out there.

Merriman Parts

We had a bracket break, holding the starboard turning sheave at the base of the pedestal. We had to have the part made at a shop. What part is your problem? jschmidt77@aol.com

That's the part!

Yes, the part you've pictured is exactly the piece I need. I don't know if it is the stresses from shifting or what, but my piece has broken into 30 - 50 pieces. What is the address, telephone number? Thanks.

steering part

My partner had it made at a shop. They copied it from the broken part. He is in Africa at the moment. I'll try to find out. Cost was about $250, I think! This weas the starboard, unthreaded part. I imagine the threaded, port side part would cost more!
