i have no sailing experience. own a 1987 hunter 23.5. would like any info. anyone might be able to give in reference to how to set up sails from scratch on this boat.
If you click on the Boat Info tab above this page then click on model 23.5 and download the general manual you will find out how to set the mast and the sails on this model. As for sailing once set, you would learn 80% of what you need to know in 20% of the time if you ordered Don Guillette's book and chart on sail trim. The other 20% will come over time and lots of sailing. Good luck,
If you don't have a sailor friend that can "show you the ropes" you might want to take a couple of classes. I'd sign up your significant other as well. http://www.usscmc.org/
Lacking a class, read everything you can. Study study study. Library, online, wherever. The dummies book I see as a waste of money. Its okay for a first read for a complete noob, but after youve read it once your going to want better books with more information.
Dave, thanks for the offer but the 23.5 isn't mine. My post was a suggestion for hotrodder's original post. And yes he would be wise to contact you. Regards.
