I don't want the weight of an beefed up battery bank, inverter, genset, or permanent solar power on my 34' production sailboat. I don't have heat, A/C or even a microwave.

Understood. My point is that the manufacturers aren't offering these things as options, factory guaranteed.

Many of them do offer the options you mention plus more. All of which come with limited warranties. Not sure which boat brands you are thinking about.
Also, there are a myriad of varieties of nav instruments, A/C, inverters, gen sets, etc...
I suspect many prospective purchasers of boats large enough to accommodate these toys also are far more sophisticated and knowledgeable than bus buyers about specifics to accept any boat manufacturer's choices to install 'builder grade' accessories.

Also, boat commissioning is much different requiring far greater expertise in installation critical to both ease of maintenance and function, e.g., most buses don't come equipped with wind, speed, depth, radar, gps, ais, etc... all of which must be integrated.

Comparing purchase of a bus and boat (we have both) is 'apples and oranges'

Are you implying that what commissioning by a dealer entails has changed over time?

My recollection is that the commissioning dealer rather than the manufacturer has historically been the source of add-one but I don't have much experience buying new boats.

...the industry's future.
What future?
I'm being flippant, of course, but such luxuries are still available at a certain cost. Whether they are worth it to you at that cost is another matter.
