I just purchased a used boat, and would like to change the name on the hull. I would also like to add a custome design. Can you tell me how and where I might go about pursuing this? Thank you!

Sign making shop

Marshall: Most sign shops can do this for you. You design you own and they cut it out with a computer program on sheets of vinyl.

First and formost DON'T UPSET NEPTUNE

We use the ceremony described in Boatsafe by Capt. Pat with great success. We went from NEVERENUFF to Miss Lisa without a hitch. The first problem is removing the old name. If is vinyl lettering I used a low temperature heat gun. A little rubbing compound and elbow grease “blended” the hull to almost perfection. A local sign shop made the new lettering to my specifications. (I lost Lisa, my bride of 10 years, to a brain aneurism 22 months ago so I had them make the dot over the first i and eye. So now we all know that it’s really “I miss Lisa”) We had a grand party with friends and family. I feel that because we offered the rulers of the seas their proper respect and shared libations we have been bless with fairs winds and calm water.

Thanks!

Thanks for your terrific response, and my sympathies about Lisa; a moving story!
