Hello all O'day owners and especially 1968 and other model year Tempest owners,Does anyone have the actual sail dimensions for the Genoa jib and Mainsail (foot, luff and leach),that came with the Tempest when new. Total area is 211 inches of sail. I have copies of the original sales brochures for my boat with suggested list prices for equipment but specific sail dimensions are not contained in themAlso, I have not come across any mention of other sails for the Tempest. Is anyone sailing with a larger ( dimensions please)Genoa and if so to what effect upon cruising speeds, balance, overall handling etc. How far back aft and exactly where did you locate the required track and blocks? thanks all for any help available,

amy good sail maker will have the spec for the sails, perhaps not a local sailmaker, but any large company will have them...

I suspect Bruce is right about sail makers having access to the correct dimensions, but you could always check with Rudy at D&R Marine. If you get desperate you could order a sail plan from Mystic Seaport. They have the complete plans for the Tempest (and other Phil Rhodes boats). The cost is $12/sheet for non members, plus S&H. If you like, I'll forward the message I had from them. The entire set runs about 20 sheets.
