I am looking for a sailing simulator program for my computer. The last issue of SAIL listed 5 with a brief review of each. Virtual Skipper 4; Virtual Sailor 7; Sail simulator 4.2; 21st Century Sailing Simulator; Advanced Racing Simulator (from Posey Yacht Design). Yeah, I got the winter sailing bug too and bought Virtual Sailor 7. It's not too bad, there are plenty of free downloads and the graphics are quite good. you can adjust wind direction, wind speed, wave height, tides, currents, weather, just about everything. I use the race mode most but I wish you could race more than one boat at a time. You can however, create your own course. If you get tired of sailing, you can skipper a tugboat with the goal of turning a tanker around, transit canal/lock systems on a freighter etc. It's a pretty extensive program for less than $30.
