I ripped my main sail in 35 kt winds over the weekend... does anyone have any experience with a loft in the Tacoma or Seattle area that you would recommend? Not sure of the costs either ... the damage happened just above my second reef point ... bummer.... any info would be appreciated. thanks

If it is just a rip ....

repairing it yourself is not that hard and a whole lot cheaper. The Sail Maker's Apprentice by Emiliano Marino for about $25 Lots of other things open up once you repair your first sail. ;-)

Had to get home

Scott My daughter and cousins wanted to stay in Bell Harbor - and I had to get the boat back home. I had three mid-westerners to assist me... never have sailed before - college students - 35 kt winds with gusts up in the 40s ... double reefed - rail in the water ... the crew had no clue of the forces at work : ) they think that sailing is an extreme sport.... some tales for the home town folks in Ohio...

You can

drop your sails off at West Marine in Fife/Tacoma and they will get them to Scott Rush for repairs. Scott is a class act.
