I am new to this site. I am no expert, so I rely on experts, some of whom seem to members of this association. About 40 years ago, when I got my first boat, I bought a book titled "Sail Power" by Wallace Ross. It covers soup to nuts. I don't know if it is out of print but it is a terrific reference for anyone who has questions especially regarding rigging, etc. You may find it on ebay or check it out at your local library. That was the first book I read about sailing. Passed it around the crerw I was sailing with and we all of a sudden started doing well in races. Great book.
