I just purchased a 1985 Hunter 34 and would like to get new/used sails or get the existing ones reworked. Can anyone help? I need the sail measurements to search. Where can I find them? Please email response to: robws@ix.netcom.com

Find it fast

Bob: Find it on the site under the Boats. They have all of the measurements. Don't forget to register your boat on the site too. Steve Dion

Every Boat is Different

In this months issue of Southwinds there is an excellent article on replacing sails. In it the author suggests that every boat (even the same make/model) has slight differences in sail requirements. The author recommended that the boat be measured for sails, after setting the mast rake for the desired degree of weather helm. There are a lot of other factors mentioned in the article. If anyone is considering new/replacement sails I suggest they get a hold of it. Southwinds is a free magazine found in boat stores and marines in the southeast. If you need it I can look up the publisher and post it here. I think they have a subscription for about $15 per year. I pick it up just to get the latest on Bubba (those who have read it will understand), but it contains very good articles written by actual cruisers, and those in the industry. I have nearly completed replacing the fixed ports and will have an article w/photos to post on the site in a few weeks.

Used Sails

I have a good freind who sells new and used sails. I have two main sails and a genoa (roller furling) that are for sale through his business. Ask for Jeff he can help you find the sails you are looking for. You can view his inventory online at the following web site. http://www.sailswaptexas.com/
