What is the best material to repair a dime size hole in the mainsail? Its the original mainsail for the Catalina 27 - with the C27 logo on it. I'm embarrassed to say I dont know what the sial material is, and its not labelled anywhere that I can see. Appreciate any assistance. Thanks in advance.

Can't help you on the material, but can tell you what I did when I had the same problem...took it to my friendly sail maker. He charged about $35 to repair the hole and restitch all that needed it.

Generally you can find sail repair tape at most chandelary, marine stores or their catalogs. An oversized piece on each side should be sufficient to repair your sail.Good luck.
