It is winter here in the hinterlands and I am trying to make a few repairs to my O'Day 19. I would like to replace the deteriorated emblem on the mainsail. I have attached a photo. It seems to be glued to the sail and then oversewn. Does anyone know where I could get either the emblem itself or the material from which I could cut one out? I also need some battens for the sail. If anyone knows of a good source for these I would also appreciate that information. Thanks in advance. John

Go to a sailmaker

I did something similiar several years go for my O'Day 23. The local sailmaker sold me some colored material with a sticky back. I cut it out and stuck it on the sail, pressed it down and it has remained there for many years now. Don't know what it is called-sorry.

Insignia cloth

I made some colored sail numbers and draft stripes a few years ago using marine insignia cloth that I bought over the internet from www.seattlefabrics.com The cloth has adhesive and paper backing, so you just cut out what you want, peel off the paper and stick it on.
