I have a H356 made in Florida 2002 and shipped to Sweden. Saildrive was at that time not allowed in US but in Europe so I guess a lot of these shipped boats have saildrive installed. I was about to have ordinary service for mine this year and when we unmounted the drive we fond that 6 out of 8 screws where mounted in the boat, and some of them didn't even had enough hold in the boat! In the worst case the water could have flooded into the boat and sink it in minutes!
The repair will now be the following:
A 10 mm plate of stainlesss steel will be glued and screwed in the boat and then the saildrive will be attached with threaded bolts into that plate. The engine will also be placed on similar plate as it has to be in the right position according to the saildrive. I hope this will be a safe solution of the problem. If you have a saildrive I recommend you to have a close look at it!
Regards
Patrik
