The sail cover that came on my boat has a few holes.
I'm more inclined to repair that replace.
Is there a commercially available patch, maybe an iron on that can be reinforced by sewing?
My sail cover is blue, if it matters.

Just go to an awning shop and ask politely for some scraps. Then you can sew them on. I am not sure that acrylic fabric will with stand enough heat for iron on patches.

Iron on patches will work and they can probably be found at a craft's shop. The hard thing will be finding a matching color. Nothing wrong with sewing on a patch and perhaps it may be easier to find a matching fabric and color.

Those iron on patches call for the flat iron to be set for cotton. That is much too hot for acrylic. Glue them on with a quality caulk.

I found yardage of the right color on eBay.
I'll glue it on with RTV, and reinforce the edges by sewing the patch on :)
