Sail Cover refurbishing

When I got my 1988 FKSR, it came with a nice sail cover (as in no missing hardware or rips). But, the logo looked like crap. I also wanted to add my sail number to the cover.

Using Contender Insignia cloth from www.sailrite.com, I made my own by carefully tracing the "C" and "2" from the old logo, and cutting out a white diamond, red triangle, and black lettering. The sail numbers are white insignia sailcloth - I have a complete set of templates from old 10" numbers that I used as patterns.

The insignia cloth is adhesive-backed, but I did sew around the logos with a zig-zag stitch to make sure it stays there for a while.

I do sew as a hobby, and making stuff for the boat is a labor of love. I'm in the process of renumbering a mains'l that was given to me (better than the one I got with the boat. More on that later.

Very nice looking.

Your sewing skills are enviable. It's good to be able to transfer non-boating hobby skills into your boating hobby.
