sail cover for jib

i've been told that the standard head sail on the 216 is UV protected, even though it doesn't have the typical blue protection on the luff. several members of my yacht club have suggested that i get a sail cover for the head sail that i can raise with the spinnaker halyard for sure protection. i looked in West Marine, and didn't find such a sail cover. any sources? any thoughts on the need to do this? thank you doug

Jib Cover

Doug! Had a cover made for our furling jib thru Select Yachts. It's raised with with a halyard using the block on the fore of the mast. It's not really custom but works ok. Try them at Marinesource.com/selectyachts 704-483-6656. Good Luck.

Catalina Direct for Jib Cover

Hi Doug. I had the same concern with my jib. After about a year of searching I found that a company call Catalina Direct made a roller furled jib cover for the Catalina 250 sailboat and it fit my 260 perfectly. You may want to try them. Good Luck!
