Right here

Hello Wally: Information for just about every Hunter ever made is available here at HOW. Click the "Boat Info" tab at the top of this page and you will find a link for the H23. As far as "tuning" goes, do you mean rig tuning? If so, a lot has been written on the subject over the years here at HOW. Click the "Message Boards" tab at the top of the page, then click "Forum Archives". You can search using key words and the boat model. If you still can't find what you need, feel free to come back and ask for more help. Good luck. Peter H23 "Raven"

Hi Peter. The specs on this site give the total sail area with the jib I beleive.I'm looking for just the main sail because I'm looking at buying a new traveler and the one I'm looking at is rated at 135sq ft( Mid boom sheeting. )Thanks Wally

Hats off to you!! The Harken windward sheeting car is the tits. Great for racing with easy fine tune control. While you're at it why not double the purchase on the vang from 4:1 to 8:1 with a simple cascade system. It will make the vang way more powerful and useful. Another very easy and simple upgrade is an adjustable cunningham. ;)

Main Sail Area

I recently purchased a Doyle Main sail for my H23. I=26.00, J=8.50, P=25.67, E= 9.75 The sail area for the main is 146 square feet. The sail has "moderate girth". The good part is that it does not contact the "back stay" when tacking. I have a somewhat larger main, that often runs afoul of the back stay when tacking, especially in light air. Just if you want to know about the Genny, according to Doyle, the sail area for a 135% Genny is 134 square feet. Hope this helps. Bill Leathen
