Safety netting attachments

I have a 1986 Catalina 25. I bought some 40' x 2' safety netting for kids and pets to attach around the cable railings. Has anybody here used this before or know of a good method for the bottom attachment. I was going to either run another cable through the bottom of the stanchions or attach a 3/4" x 3/4" aluminum angle to the outside edge of the deck and drill it out every 6" or so. Cable seems easier and cleaner.

We used some light line that we ran under the stanchions, and attached the net to that. It takes some experimenting with the tension of the line to get the net to hang right, but it worked out fine.

On my 32 I ran 1/8 tie down line through the bottom weave of the webbing. I used eye straps mounted on deck - mid point between stanchions - to pull the netting down. For the upper part of the netting, I used the same tie down line wrapped around the life line. Worked great for me.

I like the idea of the line under the stanchions. I might also weld stainless eyes at the bottom of the stanchions. I didn't want to go with screw eyes only because I figured I would need too many to make it very kidsafe. Pier supply.com has some Taco aluminum toe rail for about $500 for 34'. We'll see. Higgs' method is the easiest and least expensive option. The eye straps don't have to be through bolted, just screwed and sealed into the deck. As he said, one eye strap between each stanchion will do it. If you're looking for a more permanent attachment you might consider some type or wire instead of the 1/8 inch line.... but... I'd try the line first.
