I'm working on bumping up my certifications and maybe getting a license before next year's TransPac so I signed up for the SAS course in San Diego at the end of July. I've been reading the pre-work assignments and this video came rolling back into my memory -- figured I'd share!

I did the SAS course the at SDYC a few Febuarys ago. Being from Minnesota; it made MUCH more sense to do it there/then! A great learning session; and a great way to increase your chances of getting on a boat for offshore regattas. Many now require a percentage of the crew to have a current SAS certificate on file with US Sailing.

Of course it might be helpful to have more than one damn seminar per region per year if it's a required thing. Not everyone is a member of a professionally campaigned boat that will pay expenses. Sometimes they have blinders.
