We are researching air conditioners for our Seidelmann S37. Units from 5000BTU to 12000BTU are under consideration.
Has anyone had experience with this kind of project?
The boat is on the west coast of Florida and we cannot sleep on the boat in the summer unless we put AC in.
We have a Fischer Panda 4KW generator that will be installed at the same time. I like it cold.

From living in the Tampa Bay area for a while, I would strongly suggest you ignore anything in the 5000BTU range and start off with a 12K BTU unit. Anything less is a waste of time in this heat.
I installed mine by myself a few years ago in one weekend. The largest amount of time spent in planning.

Go with a 16K your 4 KW will have no problem running it. (Hunter 36 uses 16K from the factory) You have single skin top sides and minimal core in the deck translating into not much insulation. Personally I would use Pompanette, made in Tampa, but full disclosure I consult for them.
