S2 sinking

S2 9.2 ST IGNAGE, MI
A few weeks ago an S2 sank because the rudder shaft fell out of the sailboat. I put a screw type hose clamp on the rudder shaft of my S2, so if the set screws backed off the rudder could not fall out. I also did the same thing on the propeller shaft.

that's a good thing to do ...i have been thinking about getting a 1 1/2 inch ball type shaft zinc and putting on mine ...i suspect that boat would not have sank if the repairs had been done correctly ...i do have a bronze tiller stop on my shaft that stops the rudder at 30 degrees of center both ways
