Can someone please tell me what the NACA foil number is that most closely matches the board on the S2 6.9

What is the length of the board below the bottom of the boat when it is in full down position?

Thanks for all your help.

The S2 6.9 daggar board should go 44" below the hull when full down, for a total daft of 4' 6". I have not observed this, but class association specs I've seen shows minimum draft at 10" and maximum at 4'6".

Thank's for the input Bill,

I am going through the process of trying to fabricate a replacement board.
If you or anybody that reads this forum have any suggestions on how to replicate the true foil shape or knows the (NACA #) please add your thoughts. The only thing I have been able to do so far is to pull a male plug from the bottom of the daggerboard slot. If you have any ideas please add your thoughts.

My currently planing on using a 1/2" thick aluminium plate with 5 segments per side of 1" x 3" x 25" lead bolted to both port and starboard side of the aluminium center section. I will shape the lead with a water jet and then cover the assembly with fiberglass and vacuum bag the whole board.

Do you know the chord length and the maximum width of the keel?

If so, I may be able to help.

Good Morning Ed,
The opening at the bottom of the hull measures 3" x 24"
I have made up a concept drawing of the board buildup that I can email to you.
If you want to contact me off list my e-mail address is howard.lkn@gmail.com Thanks, Howard

Howard, Here's a photo of my screen (how do you do a print screen w/a DOS based program??) with NACA measurements for the 0012 foil. It may be too "fat". I'll email you the NACA foil program so you can play around with it and then decide on which foil you'll use. I'm guessing somewhere between a 0009 and 0012 will work. Let me know if you have any other questions.

Ed,

What advantage / disadvantage is there between the 0009 & 0012?

Howard,
