S1 Autopilot
Craig: I just installed the S1 on my 1983 Hunter 31. I mounted the fluxgate compas below the table in the salon. According to Raymarine it needs to be mounted on a vertical surface away from any metal or electrical conduit. Here is what a Raymarine tech. told me: Response (Chris Martin) 05/09/2007 01:41 PM Yes, it needs to be on a vertical bulkhead and 3 feet away from any metals, speakers, tools, batteries, fire equipment, pumps and wiring. ============================================== Pull the wire forward to where the S1 computer will be mounted. I mounted mine in my starboard lazarette. I am doing this from memory, but I don't believe it needs to go to the helm - only to the computer. Greg W. De Pere, WI.
