I grew a little weary of Untie the Lines maintenance and problem solving, but I'm hoping to see some new episodes as Nike begins her journey. There doesn't seem to be anything new for awhile.

In the meantime, I started following S/V Delos. Attracted by the obvious bikini-bottomed tease on Youtube stills, I find that they have produced some really good video blogs covering mostly diving and some south seas culture. Ahhh ... to be young and have money for these adventures ...

I'm also greatly entertained by Alaskagraphy, with Bixler and Krystin ... I especially love it when Bixler goes off on his hunting and fishing rants!

What about the Anaconda in Lake Hoptacong video?

It was on TV here in Virginia the other night. Course they did make a comment that no one credible had really seen it (they made fun of your local snake expert). :naughty:

Nike posted on Facebook that she doesn't have a good enough internet connection at her current location to upload the latest videos. She was planning on sailing to another spot when the weather cleared....

Yes, she did earn it.

I've been waiting also Scott, but Nike sure earned a few weeks off in my book
I'm sure Nike was more weary of actually performing all the improvements more so than any of us were watching them, lol, I didn't mean to put her blog down for it. I actually enjoyed all of her segments. I was looking forward to seeing her actually on her way ... which she is now but we haven't been able to witness. I guess it will be all that much better to see her rewards when she is able to post the new videos. I hope all is going well.

rp, I'm not so sure about the snake expert either. I don't know how much time he has spent actually looking for the snake since he first came on the scene. I also thought it was a hoax put out there by Byram Cove Party - the unofficial name for the knucklehead partiers that congregate every weekend and make themselves a nuisance to the local residents in Byram Cove.

However, a local dinner cruise captain claims to have seen the snake while he was motoring home with his wife and daughters on board their own cabin cruiser. He said the snake was north of Brady Bridge closer to Liffy Island. Also, an older man on Halsey Island says he got a close look at it while on his own property. I don't dismiss either of these sources so readily. From what I know of them, they aren't crackpots or publicity seekers, so I'm not so positive that it isn't real based on their stories.

What does make sense to me is that with all the commotion and boat traffic around Prospect Point and Halsey Island, where it was first claimed to be seen, it would be chased to a quieter location. Liffy Island, because of all the marshland surrounding it, no homes and little boat traffic close to shore (very shallow water), is the perfect place for it to hide out if it exists. It's difficult to even penetrate that area as you can see by looking at google maps. If it made it there, it can feast all summer on local wildlife and never be seen by anybody. There is a lot of undisturbed property surrounding that area.

The police and DEP aren't taking it seriously, though.

I love S/V Delos. I've watched all those great videos at least once. Too bad I couldn't have found such inspiration when I was about 18 years old.

Capn N, Yeah, and I couldn't find the money for all that new gear AND a new boat in 1979!
