I have a 6.7 S-2 on which I have just replaced the mast. Does anyone know the proper tension for the inner and out shrouds especially considering that it has a flexible mast? Thanks, Steve Corwin

There are several rig tuning guides available for a search. Being able to see how straight or curved the mast is as you are doing it is the key. Even with a gauge and numbers I think it comes down to looking at the column straightness and a little bit of bend forward and aft. I got my best results clipping a steel measuring tape to the halyard and lifting it to the masthead to measure side to side.

See page 5. I usually just try to set the mast up vertically with some bend aft at the tip. The main halyard is a useful tool. Use it as a measuring tape to check side to side and hold it tight to the mast to judge bend in the middle of the mast (set with the forward lowers and back stay) and with a weight as a plumb bob to check the total bed at the mast head. Stays to the mast head should be tight, but not bar tight. I usually get a feel for them by plucking them like an guitar string. You should still be able to deflect them by a couple of inches, but not much more than that. The lowers should in general be looser and be set to load up with on one tack or the other.
