RW intake hose?

What kind of hose is the "official" one for the RW intake? I've asked several stores, and they seem puzzled: they first offer fresh-water hose (like you use for potable water), then radiator hose (or even wet exhaust hose). I guess radiator hose is the closest, but they're mainly concerned with temperature, which is obviously not a factor. Also, they tend to be VERY hard to bend...

And I guess Second Question would be where do I get some? (Preferably locally here in Vancouver)

Thoughts?

You'd want wire reinforced so the suction does not make it collapse. Radiator, at the least.

You only have minimal suction pressure on the intake of a RW system unless you never clean the strainer. Any hose rated for below the water line use will work fine.

I have used good quality heater hose from NAPA for about a bajillion years.

Thanks Ralph - looks like "heater hose" is what I'm looking for. There's a video on Youtube from ABYC about Raw-water plumbing, and that looks exactly like what they're using.

I replaced the original rubber raw water cooling hose with wire wound heater hose when I bought my boat.
