Anyone have experience installing the Rutland? Can the deck mounting plate for the pole supplied with the mariner's package be used vertically, as on the transom's verticle surface of my Legend 35.5? How about some feedback for bracing the pole? Thanks, Pat captainpat@prodigy.net

Mounted Mine on Port Stern (Temporay)
Pat - I zipped you a short message via e-mail - Basically I use my Rutland only during the one long summer vacation and then take it off again, but it has worked very well. Used an aluminum tube - thickwall - with 1-inch stainless guys at about 90 degrees. You'll see more in my e-mail.
