Rusty Handles

Our 1985 Hunter 40 is in great shape. The original handles for all cabinets have become quite rusty and we would like to replace them. All of our black plexi slidding doors are in need of replacement handles. The handles themselves are chrome and measure two and a half inches from center to center. We've not been able to locate any new ones to use as these are an unusual size. Does anyone know where we can purchase them ?

Hello Nancy: Being a confirmed DIY, and a cheapskate,my suggestion would be to refinish what you have. Remove them,wire wheel off the rust, apply a coat of rust converter, and paint color of you choice. Good luck red

CABINET STORE

HI, No you will not find them at home depot, hardware stores etc... you have to go to a store that specializes in cabinets and hard ware. For my Legend 37 I purchased beautiful solid brass handles for the main salon, and black lexan for everwhere else. The handles Hunter used are cheap steel with a chrome finish, you will most likely strip them out just taking them off, don't forget to use stainless or brass screws to mount the new ones, they ARE an odd size but can be found. Had the same problem

Had the same problem. The handles are not a standard size and I could not find them at Lowes, Home Depot or other hardware store including cabinet shops. Try Hunter.
