IM LOOKING FOR IDEAS FOR REMOVING RUST FROM STAINLESS STEEL. THERE IS JUST A LITTLE RUNNING RUST ON SOME OF THE FITTINGS. WILL NAVEL JELLY HURT THE DECK? I TRIED A TEST WITH HULL CLEANER WATERED DOWN AND IT APPEARED TO WORK. AFTER REMOVING I APPLIED A WAX AND HAVE BEEN CHECKING IT OUT DURING THE WINTER. IT LOOKS LIKE ITS WORKING. DONT KNOW IF IT WILL WORK ON THE MOORING. ANY INPUT WOULD BE HELPFULL THANKS:

Are you trying to remove rust from stainless steel or rust stains from fiberglass?

Rust Off

Go to your local ACE hardware store and pick up a bottle of Rust Off. It's about $5, but works great on all types of metal. Spray it on let it site for a few seconds and wash off with water. Rust is gone !! For severely rusted spots, let it sit a little longer and brush with a soft brush like a tootbrush and then rinse. I used it on all my stancions, life line fittings, etc., and it completely took all the rust away. Be sure you put some wax or other type presever on the metal after cleaning to keep it looking good.
