Im updating instruments to my hunter 285, (1987) I have to run wires from the nav station to the deck just above were the hatch slides into the roof portion. This area of the deck is shaped like "corrigated steel" The area will work best because we have a dodger (that we want to keep) and it would block anything mounted on the lower portion of the mast! Its a great spot because the dodger can fold down (while racing) and they will not be in the way of this. I just need to figure out how to get the wires down into the ceiling liner area. and I need to be careful that the hatch sliding open and close will not mess with any wiring? Please advise!

Running wires through roof

Have you looked through the archives? It seems that I've seen some pictures of a project that put the instruments on the cabin roof. We own a 79 H30 and it appears that there is a gap between the interior shell and exterior(with core) of the boat. I think if you are careful and drill a hole you can insert a snake & pull your wires through.
