Running water- this one is probably stupid

Hi again, as said before we learn as we go along. Here is what happened: The water tanks had antifreeze in them so the surveyor suggested a flush. We turned on water pressure, opened the fawcett and water came out . We did not touch anything else like a valve or so. Did that drain out the tanks or just the lines ? Anyways, when the running water stopped I opened the water intake on deck and started filling the tanks. The whole time the water pressure was on , the pump was running and the fawcett was open (my thinking being that a straight run through would flush out the tanks best). Well ,the tanks filled up but no water ever came out. Any idea why? The tank under the starboard settee is under lot of pressure, when openening the black thing on top water pressures out immidiately. OK , everyone confused now ? We are , what could it be ? Thanks, Torsten

Don't know C-30's specifically, but what I glean is this. Sounds like you've got two water tanks (though not stated specifically). The full tank under pressure was shut off so no water would drain to any of the outlets. The other tank (the one you were filling)was the one with the valves open to the faucets. The reason you didn't get any water flow--even with the pump running--while filling it is that the pressure could never build up while you had the fill cap open. Try pressurinzing the tank/line after the cap was resecured?

Sounds like you have 2 tanks.

One tank under starboard settee and one under the v-berth. There should be a valve in the hatch below the v-berth that controls which tank is being used. This is the likely problem, open or close this valve to switch tanks. I suppose you opened the sink drain or you would have had water backing up into the sink.

Tanks run dry?

If your tanks ran dry the pumps need to be primed.mine dose anty way I have a expansion tank about 2' from the pump under port sette and there is a plug you can take out on top of the tank to fill it up.Then replace plug and water will flow after all the air is out of the lines. The only think that I dont no about is why the pump wont prime it self with the water tank above the pump.but it works for me.
