Running rigging question

I just bought an '81 H22 without any running rigging and I'd like to know how to rigg it. There are four pulley's at the top and bottom of the mast, two to starboard and two to port. The Hunter manual tells me the line lenghts but not the rigging details. The manual shows: (1) main Halyard, (1) main Jib, (1) main sheet, (1) jib sheet, (1) Vang, (1) Downhaul, (2) Jiffy reef and a Topping Lift tail. Can somebody tell me which lines I should run through the mast and which side, port/starboard they should be? I bought all new lines per Hunter manual but don't want to mess up while I have the mast down. Also would kine to know the function of all the lines except for jib & main halyard. This is my first sailboat and there's very few up here to look at. Thanks, Paul

Karl, I can't send a photo but...

Karl, The best I can do is describe to you what I need. At the bottom of the mast there's four pulley's, two facing Port and two facing Starboard. At the masthead, there's also four pulley's, but two facing fore and two facing aft. What I don't know is which lines to run through these pulley's. Thanks, Paul

Minnesota?

I have an H23 on Waconia,Minnesota. I thought that the H22 and H23 were rigged the same. Maybe not if you have two sheaves to port and another two to starboard high and low. If you would like to go sailing and check the rigging on mine send a note. I'm registered in the Hunter Owners database. I believe the halyards on mine are 7/16". I have a 1/2" sheet on the main and 3/8" sheets on the jib. The topping lift was lighter, I'm thinking 1/4". I have a late '85 H23, which is a little different that early '85 H23's. I dont' have the swing keel that earlier H23's had. I have a Kenyon mast. The jib halyard exits to port and the main to starboard roughly 6' off the cabin top respectively with a winch on the starboard to assist with hoisting the main. The jiffy reef line is 7/16 to starboard on the boom. The topping lift is to port and the outhaul is centered on the boom. I believe the outhaul is also 7/16" but I'm not sure without running out to Waconia to measure it.

Still a couple questions

I'm still not certain about this rigging. On my H22 there's a (3) deck organizer just starboard of the mast. Should the Main Halyard & Jib Halyard exit the mast @ starboard and thru the deck organizer? If so, what other line should run thru the deck organizer. Thanks, Paul

1/2 solved

Top of mast- Two forward blocks (pulleys) 1 for jibsheet 1 for spinaker. Two rearward blocks 1 for main haylard 1 for topping lift. Karl

Karl, I have two wire rigging at top aft mast. One I know must be the the backstay the other which seems smaller in dia. (1/4"). From what little I know and read here I'm left to believe that this smaller wire must be for the topping lift. If so should I still run a topping lift line through the aft block?. Also would like to know which lines should I run thru the starboard (3) line deck organizer . Thanks, Paul

Paul on my 22 I have a jib halyard is run on a fore pulley at the top of the mast and down to a starboard pulley at bottom. The main halyard is run on a aft pulley at the top and down to the other starboard at the bottom.I have both lines run to jam clutches on the aft part of the cabin. This makes it easy for single-handing.Hope this helps !!
