I recently purchased a 1975 O'Day 27. I have one halyard in place, the working jib halyard. I have to run a new main halyard and want to know if I can do so without sending someone up the mast or taking it down. Specifically, can I run the main halyard up the jib track and, by "snapping" it cause it to "jump" over to the main track? In other words, is there a vertical obstruction between the two tracks which would prevent this or is the mast cap so close to the top edge of the track pulley that a halyard cannot fit between them and thus cannot be "snapped" or "popped" to the adjacent track?Larry Flynn
