Run electrical wire through horizontal mast?

I need to run an additinoal wire through my mast to connect to my top light. The mast is currently in horizontal position and I already tried to get the wire through with the help of a wire slider, but I got stuck there, too. It looks like that the slider gets stuck everytime in a different place. Is the only possible way to get through it, if the mast is in verital position? Any suggestions?

Use a fish tape

I've always had luck using a electricians fish tape. Start from the top end of the mast. If you keep hitting an obstical inside the mast, do you know what it is? You can always remove cleats and wenches to get their attaching screws out of the way.

Try using an existing wire to haul a line through

then pull the existing wire and the new wire through.
