Beneteau 393 Blairgowrie Vic Australia
Hi
thoughti might update two issues with our B393 for information.

I posted a note re slop in my rudder. I got the following answer from the local beneteau agent (prices are aussie dollars) our rudder has about 6mm slop so should be ok:
......It is not unusual to have some play in the rudder bearings. At the tip
[bottom] of the rudder if you have more than about 10mm, then it is time
to replace the bottom bearing which is a copper type bonded to the hull.
The top bearing is a nylon type, which doesn't need to be replaced as
often as bottom bearing.
Top bearing is $182.16, bottom is $301.95, neither in stock at the
moment, but can be sourced quickly from France.........

We also replaced the PVC trim around the transom hull joint. After much thinking cos it wasnt going on cold and trying a heat gun without much success we put the moulding in a tub of hot water which softened it magically, put it on, let it cool took it off (it seems to set in position) dried everything thoroughly and using polymer adhesive stuck it back on belting it home with a rubber mallet. We put a couple of screws thru the bottom lip under the water line just in case. Looks great
The only thing is I would like to make some kind of trim to cover the top ends of the moulding which look a bit ordinary with just the sealant showing. Anyone made anything like this?
Thanks
