Can anyone tell me some specs from their rudder craft rudder? I'm looking for:
Thickness of metal cheek plates
Type of metal (guessing aluminum)
Width of square vertical tube
Thickness of square tube
Type of boat you have
I'm thinking of making a ruddercraft style rudder for my West Wight Potter 19. I would consider buying a Ruddercraft rudder but they're expensive and I understand the HDPE blades snap off sometimes. I had a rudder come apart in a small craft advisory once (aka a typical summer afternoon on the San Francisco Bay) and I would like to avoid that if possible.
There is a place called "send cut send" that has super low prices on laser cut parts, so I will just draw my own parts and order from them.
I know taking these measurements is a bit of a pain, so if anyone is willing I would be very appreciative!
