Should work fine. It folds down when you are sailing, folds up when you are beaching, trailering, etc.

It seems shorter than normal to me but you could call Hunter to see by how much. If it's too short, it'd be an easy fix for about $500 from the Chandlery on this site. just roll it into the purchase price.

It looks like an original rudder that was cut off shorter. It may work, but you'll see the biggest effect as you heel over. As Soling42 says, just include a replacement in your price negotiations. Let them the seller know you know the rudder was modified from original. BrianW

Your going to notice a big difference when the boat heels. Not a big deal to change out.

Would not be a deal breaker

I agree with the other replies. It looks as if it was purposefully shortened. However it cannot be evaluated without trying.
As it is, I don't exclude the possibility that it performs better when motoring.
I would give it a try before replacing it.
