Rudder to Control Motor
I had a motor control rod included when I bought my Hunter 25 (used). In order to make it work properly I had to add a flat bar to the rudder bracket to extend the attach point forward so that it formed a parallel distance (parallelogram) with the motor turning. The steering rod is available from Cabelas. It is an off-shore version of the EZSteer rod, but a quarter of the price. I have the zinc plated version, but I am ordering the stainless version since I sail in salt water. I made a bracket out of flat aluminum stock from Home Depot, but I am currently looking for a place to get a piece of stainless cut.The difference in steering is remarkable. The boat is out of the water in storage, but I can give you more information if needed. Don't hesitate to email me.
