Thanks Ken the photos and writeup for this nasty job. I'm going to save it in my H33 manual material for the day I have to do this job myself. Since you were able to get 3 rings in there, I'll bet you never have to go in again. In your first photo, what is the L shaped structure bolted or screwed into the underside of the cockpit sole? a wheel stop? My 79 H33 only has a couple of sections of 2x4 to serve as stops and they aren't very sturdy.
