Rudder Slop

I am looking for advice on how to repair the rudder on my 1989 Catalina 30. I presently have play in the rudder which may or may not also result in water entering the rudder requiring annual drilling of drain holes to prevent delamination of the rudder.

What kind of slop are you talking about? Is the rudder post moving around in the rudder post tube or do you have alot of slack at the wheel?If it is slack at the wheel, try tightening the steering cables at the quadrant.Please define your problem for futher help.

I too have RS, I e-mailed Catalina (home then Contact us) and asked for an exploded view. The next day a reply said it's in the mail. I'll let you know if it helps....maybe you can enlighten me?Regards Tim K.
